Do you know Netvibes, iGoogle and Pageflakes? A personalizable portal, that you can use to take your notes, check your e-mail, read your preferred news feeds, everything in a single page, that you can customize by your self by just draging a couple of windows. If you are interested to setup one in your home/office network, university, community or even in the internet, than Posh, is reasonable option as it is free, cause is released in an GNU/GPL license, as also you can make your own modules like in the Netvibes.
